When I woke up on March 19, I was freezing. The air outside was cold and damp and my sleeping bag was thin and useless. The day was not off to a good start.

I stumbled out of my tent and walked for 30 seconds to the edge of Lake St. Clair and I watched the sunrise. Suddenly, it was a great start to the day.
